The bio does not the man make, but nonetheless:

At WHPK, 2010
Travis Bird of New Orleans is an omnivorous guitarist  and writer of music searching for movement and meaning. He has led Night Water since forming the band in 2018. Bird’s early times in Chicago featured antics in jumpsuit-sporting Team Band and drumming with vitalist pop searchers the Leavitt Ours. In New Orleans, he formerly led the intricate The Land Between The Rivers and now finds seams of surprise in the dark Americana of Guts Club. He is co-curator of Notice Recordings, an experimental cassette label that has released his work in the non-instrument improvising duo Dense Reduction with Evan Lindorff-Ellery, and has dueled in a guitar duo with Daniel Burke (Illusion of Safety). He has also put in significant time in cover and tribute bands, bringing unique perspectives to his influences and feel for the Rock Gesture. Influenced by  touchstones of rock, folk, drone, and Tropicália, Night Water evokes the solitude and mystery of its two words, inviting and foreboding, intensely dark but full of what could be shimmering insight.

He is co-founder of nonprofit film exhibitor Shotgun Cinema (est. 2013). He is a film and video projectionist and technician, working at film festivals throughout the U.S. and Canada.
