Travis bird

Travis Bird is a musician, writer, and cinema technician based in Columbia, MO.
In New Orleans, he released music as The Land Between The Rivers (2011-2015). He played in Guts Club, Where Y'acht, Rudy Stoned, and Mr. Universe. He led Night Water (2018-2021). His years in Chicago featured antics in jumpsuit-sporting Team Band and drumming with vitalist pop searchers the Leavitt Ours. He is co-founder of Notice Recordings, a cassette label since 2009. He has played in Dense Reduction with Evan Lindorff-Ellery, toured in a guitar duo with Daniel Burke (Illusion of Safety), and accompanying the Super 8 films of Jaap Pieters in live performance on a 2011 tour.
A projectionist by trade, he is currently Technical Director of Ragtag Film Society and the True/False Film Fest. He is co-founder of nonprofit film exhibitor Shotgun Cinema (est. 2013). He continues to project at film festivals in the U.S. and Canada.
